About the Foundation
Clean water is one of the great issues of our times, an issue that will define our legacy. Water is essential to life in every aspect – yet easily spoiled if we do not take the time to appreciate, understand, and preserve it.
The Foundation
The Des Moines Water Works Park Foundation, formed in November 2013, is a non-profit organization whose goal is to improve the quality of life for Central Iowan’s by the enhancement of Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Foundation integrates education, conservation, recreation, and health by engaging park users and informing them of the importance of water quality throughout their adventure in Water Works Park.
Our Goals:
to Further Improve Quality of Life for Central Iowans
Create Cleaner Water
By building a natural filter system using the space and ecology of Water Works Park; we are safeguarding a natural filtration system within Water Works Park to create clean, drinkable water for Central Iowans.
Improve Opportunities for Healthy Living
The Master Plan will preserve and create opportunities to engage the community in a wide variety of recreational & educational opportunities while improving the quality of life for all of Central Iowa and advancing the discussion about the importance of clean water
